💰 Cost & Pricing

How much does concrete resurfacing cost in Toronto?

In the GTA, concrete resurfacing typically costs $8–$18 per square foot depending on the surface, condition, and finish chosen. A typical front porch runs $2,000–$4,000. A two-car driveway runs $5,000–$10,000. A pool deck runs $6,000–$14,000. Resurfacing saves 40–60% versus full concrete replacement.

Is resurfacing really cheaper than replacing concrete?

Yes — 40 to 60% cheaper in most cases. Full concrete replacement requires demolition, removal, new pour, and curing time. Resurfacing applies a polymer-modified decorative overlay directly on top of the existing slab. No demolition, no disposal, no landscaping damage.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes — every estimate is free and no-pressure. We come to your property, measure the surface, assess the condition, discuss options, and provide a written quote. Most estimates take under 30 minutes. You can also send photos via WhatsApp at 416-889-8273 for rough pricing without a site visit.

Can I get a rough quote today?

Yes. WhatsApp 416-889-8273 with photos of your surface and rough measurements. We typically reply within a few hours during business hours (Mon–Sat, 8 AM – 6 PM) with rough pricing. For a precise quote, book a free in-person estimate online or by phone.

🛠️ Process & Timeline

Can you resurface over cracked concrete?

Yes, as long as the slab is structurally sound. We diagnose every surface first, repair all cracks and spalling with structural fillers, then apply the decorative overlay on top. The repaired finish typically outlasts the original concrete. If the slab has shifted, settled, or has severe structural damage, we'll tell you honestly that replacement is the right call.

How long does the resurfacing process take?

Most residential projects take 2 to 4 days from start to finish. Porches are usually 1–2 days. Driveways and pool decks are typically 3–4 days. The surface needs to cure for 24–48 hours before use, and 7 days before vehicle traffic on driveways.

Do I need to be home during the work?

Not required. Many of our clients are at work during the project. We do recommend you're available for the initial walkthrough and final inspection. We're fully insured and trusted to work on your property without supervision.

Can resurfacing be done in winter?

Exterior resurfacing requires temperatures above 10°C for proper curing, so our outdoor season typically runs April through October in the GTA. Interior microcement work continues year-round. If you're planning a spring project, December through February is the best time to book to lock in your spot.

How do I get a quote without a site visit?

Send us 3–5 photos of your surface (close-up of damage + wide shot of the whole area) on WhatsApp at 416-889-8273, plus rough dimensions. We'll reply with a price range within hours. Final pricing requires an in-person measure and condition assessment, but the photo quote gets you 80% of the way there.

🛡️ Durability & Warranty

How long does concrete resurfacing last in Toronto?

Properly installed and sealed decorative concrete overlays last 15–25 years in the GTA climate. The key is proper surface prep, crack repair, and a quality sealer applied at the right time. We back every resurfacing job with a 3-year warranty.

Will resurfacing survive Toronto's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — we use frost-resistant polymer-modified overlay systems engineered specifically for Canadian winters. Combined with proper crack repair and a quality penetrating sealer, your finish handles 20+ freeze-thaw cycles per year without spalling or peeling.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes — every resurfacing job comes with a 3-year warranty on workmanship and materials. We back our work because we do the prep properly the first time. Our reputation depends on jobs that hold up after 5, 10, and 20 years — not just looking good on day one.

What if my new finish chips or cracks later?

If anything fails within 3 years due to workmanship or materials, we fix it at no charge. That's the warranty. For damage from impact, heavy chemicals, or improper maintenance, we offer affordable touch-up services. Proper sealer reapplication every 2–3 years keeps the surface looking new.

Is concrete resurfacing slippery when wet?

Not when finished correctly. We add anti-slip aggregate to the sealer coat for pool decks, stairs, and any wet-area surface. The finished texture grips better than smooth poured concrete and meets or exceeds slip-resistance standards for residential use.

🎨 Aesthetics & Customization

What colors and patterns can I choose?

Virtually unlimited. Decorative concrete overlays can be stamped to look like flagstone, slate, cobblestone, brick, wood plank, or tile. Colors range from natural greys and charcoals to warm tans, terra cotta, and custom blends. We bring samples to your estimate so you can see options in your own light.

Will the new finish look fake or like real stone?

Modern decorative concrete is almost indistinguishable from natural stone at a glance — and often more durable. The texture is hand-troweled and stamped, then accent-colored in multiple layers to mimic natural stone variation. Most visitors don't realize it's a concrete overlay.

What's the difference between Jewelstone and microcement?

Jewelstone is a decorative stamped concrete overlay used outdoors — porches, driveways, pool decks, patios. It looks like stone or tile. Microcement is a seamless, hand-applied thin coating used indoors — bathroom floors, feature walls, kitchen counters. Microcement has no joints or grout and creates a modern minimalist look.

Is microcement waterproof? Can it go in a shower?

Yes — when properly sealed with a quality polyurethane topcoat, microcement is fully waterproof and works in showers, wet rooms, and bathroom floors. It's a popular choice for modern bathrooms in Toronto because it eliminates grout lines and the mold issues that come with them.

Do you do commercial properties too?

Yes. We resurface commercial floors, lobbies, retail spaces, restaurant patios, and condo amenities across the GTA. Commercial projects often use a thicker overlay system rated for heavy foot traffic. Contact us with the property type and square footage for a quote.

Can you fix a botched job from another contractor?

Yes — fixing other contractors' work is a regular part of our business. Common issues we repair: failed sealers, lifting overlays, mismatched repair patches, and overlays that weren't properly bonded. We diagnose what went wrong and rebuild it the right way.

How is Artisan Coat different from other GTA contractors?

Three things: 14+ years of GTA-specific experience with freeze-thaw cycles, we always do proper surface diagnosis and crack repair before applying any decorative finish (most contractors skip this), and we're authorized Jewelstone installers with a track record of fixing other contractors' botched jobs. 3-year warranty on every project.
